Whether you wish to buy a diamond necklace or a diamond pendant, diamond clarity is going to be an important factor in the equation. "The Diamond Clarity impacts the overall value of the diamond" – This notion is not entirely misplaced. And while it is next to impossible to find near flawless diamonds (The F and The FL Grade Diamonds), with some research, you would be able to locate good clarity diamonds for purchasing.

Let us then put to rest some dispelling notions about purchasing diamond pendants, diamond necklaces and any other item that has diamonds in it – The Diamond does not have to be Flawless in Clarity for it to look stunning.

Obviously, the reference here is the treatment process, which goes behind polishing and ‘fine-tuning’ the diamond, so all imperfections are got rid of. Eventually, the diamonds used in making top-of-the-drawer jewelry items are treated and re-treated to ensure that the final outcome is absolutely free of any blemishes and inclusions.

First things first – For all practical reasons, stay away from I Grade diamonds. These diamonds have a lot of visible blemishes and inclusions, and very rarely would you see quality jewelry items being made from these diamonds.

For diamond necklaces, the recommended clarity would be VVS and VS. The VVS and VS diamonds have excellent value and appearance. They do have minor inclusions, but that’s only because I am writing about them here. To the naked eye, you wouldn’t be able to make out the inclusions at all.

The SI1 and SI2 grade diamonds are excellent choices for diamond pendants and rings. These diamonds are known as the eye-clean diamonds and as the name suggests, they don’t have any inclusions visible to the naked eye.

Back to the whole point – The I1-I3 grade diamonds aren’t exactly villains, as they have been spoken about. It is true that they do have some visible defects, but not many people notice these defects. Probably, after coming this far, you may wish to note these flaws in I grade diamonds. That said, with some treatment (Some is probably an understated word here), I grade diamonds could be worked with for sure.

The next time you think of shopping a diamond pendant or a diamond necklace or a diamond whatever for your partner, be sure to know the diamond clarity. Even if the price of the diamond is not so much of a concern for you, eventually diamond clarity would be.
